Film director, video editor and occasional dj, Spyros Kopanitsas (AKID), based in Athens, Greece, is the founder of UMATIC, an independent multimedia production services platform.
Inspired by the famous early seventies Sony U-Matic analogue recording video cassete format (that he found as a kid one day while randomly browsing in his fathers old VCA productions warehouse) and influenced by the infamous 90s Greek afterhours technoclub with the same name, this production platform aims to “bridge” the recent past with the current state of being, through a variety of short form video content and music projects.
Collaborating with highly creative freelancers and talented crew members on rotation per project, UMATIC has the ability to tackle any short & medium length video production, as long as the chemistry works and the stars are aligned. ✨
